Meet the team

Laura qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG London (one of the Big 4 accountancy firms) in 2000, winning a national prize in her final exams along the way. Laura also went on to gain high-profile experience in a number of senior roles in the Financial Planning and Strategy teams of several FTSE 250 companies. She set up LKA Chartered Accountants in 2008 after seeing an opportunity to provide value-added accounting services to small businesses and individuals in and around her local area.

Her key strengths are the ability to provide clarity and challenge operational and strategic plans by identifying opportunities for growth and by working closely with decision makers.

Laura uses very simple and visual techniques to enable business owners not only to understand their numbers, but to be able to interpret them, own them and act on them.

Role: As well as ensuring the smooth running of the business, Laura specialises in business development, strategic advice and financial planning.

Role: In his new role as the company’s Operations Director, Josh’s responibilities include operational leadership, strategy execution, performance management and team development.

Robyn started her career in a small bookkeeping practice but found her interest lay in Taxation. Having passed both her ATT and CTA exams Robyn now specialises in Personal Taxes and enjoys being able to assist in an area which can often cause much stress and anxiety. In February 2025 Robyn set up a peer group for tax discussion on Making Tax Digital leading to her nomination as a Digital Distruptor of the year 2025.  Robyn has a keen interest in learning from others and creating meaningful support networks to enhance the service LKA provide. 

Role: Robyn oversees the self-assessment process for all of our clients and specialises in personal tax compliance.

Sara started her career in HR before moving into payroll where she earned her CIPP qualification. As Payroll and Practice Manager, she oversees team operations and ensures the smooth running of our payroll function.

Role: An Accounting and Finance Manager works with their skilled team to ensure the delivery of statutory and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio.

Role: A Senior Accountant prepares and reviews VAT Returns, Management Information, Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax Returns.

Lizzie Smith joined LKA in September 2024 as a Tax Senior. Lizzie is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and joins our award-winning Tax Team.

Role: Lizzie will be focusing on personal tax returns and advice.

Danielle started her career in accounting by studying the AAT qualification and setting up her own bookkeeping company. She then went on to work in various departments within accounts for Historic Royal Palaces at Hampton Court Palace.

Role: Danielle works within our tax team, focusing on preparing personal tax returns and other tax related services.

Jemma joined LKA in May 2019,  from a specialist Accounting and Property Management practice and has built up extensive knowledge in business accounting and personal tax client services.

Role: Jemma is the main port of call for many of our self assessment clients and also provides tax planning advice to a number of directors.

After 4 years as Office Manager Lucie has taken the next step in her career at LKA and taken on the role of Marketing Manager, overseeing all of LKA’s Communications and Marketing activities. Lucie has a background in Marketing, having worked for the Institute of Directors within the Marketing team for nearly 5 years.

Role: Lucie is responsible for LKA client communications and marketing.

Since joining LKA in June 2021 as our Office Manager, Claire has taken on the role of Client Services Manager. Her experience across both major corporations and small family businesses enables her to build strong relationships as the key link between our clients and the LKA team. She also oversees our company secretarial services.

Role: Claire is responsible for all company secretarial matters and is the main contact for our clients.

Karen joined the LKA team in August 2024 as Teddington Office Manager a role that has evolved with our growing team and recent move to larger offices in Thames Ditton. As well as general office administrative and facilities duties she acts as HMRC liaison and provides support for the Practice Management team.

Role: To provide comprehensive support to the Practice Management team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of office operations and client services.

Role: An Assistant Accountant prepares client bookkeeping and assists the wider accounting and finance team in delivering client services.

Role: Ralph is enjoying his role learning the fundamentals of bookkeeping and payroll management.
